The National Project Coordinator of the Rice Value Chain Development Project along with a team of experts from the Project Management Unit (PMU) in Bamenda, has inaugurated the Far North Office of the RVCDP in Maroua. The Project Coordinator and some staff of the PMU paid a working visit to Maroua, during which he assessed the level of work on the PIU building in Maroua, and concluded it was now fit for equipping, occupation and use.

The team was given a guided tour of the office by the Chief of Antenna of the RVCDP for the Far North Region, Mr. Yanusa Saibou. The office consists of 6 offices, a conference room, four restrooms, a store, a kitchenette, and a guest house with two bedrooms, a security post and a borehole to ensure constant water supply.
The ultramodern duplex which will be equipped in the near future, will host the offices of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the RVCDP for the Far North Region.

The project Coordinator expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the work done within the deadline and hoped that the building will be used effectively for the purpose for which it is intended.
