On this special day (March 8, 2024) to recognize the impact of the woman in every sphere of life, we wish to take a look at the formidable role the woman plays in the Production of Rice and by extension, the Economic growth of Cameroon.
In all the areas we have visited, from Sabongari, to Mbonso, to Bangorain, Koutupit, Nchoupat, Tajiri and Sanctchou, etc, we have noticed, even without effort, that the women out-number the men in the Production of Rice in these areas. From ploughing the fields, to planting, harvesting and marketing, women have proven that they are able and willing to make impact in this area.
The RVCDP encourages women and youth, to take centre stage in the Production of Rice. The Project dedicates 50% of its resources, to engage women and youth to venture in this area of Agriculture.
The RVCDP will put in measures to reduce labour intensive methods of farming and support and accompany you in the process, till the product reaches its final consumers.
